Crail Festival Sandcastle Competition

Today was the first day of the Crail Festival and it began with a sandcastle
competition down on the beach.

This mermaid was quite good!  She even had a crab claw "hair" clip!

There were various castles and this sweet little crab defined
with sea shells, all materials from the beach!

This lobster was huge!!!

That is an American flag on top of this structure.  We weren't sure if it was political - let's see ........... a large house surrounded by a moat AND a wall .........

This was Owen's first visit to the harbor.  The tide seemed much lower than it was when I visited yesterday.  The green growth on these rocks absolutely dazzled my eyes!

The cliffs weren't too shabby either!

Tonight there was a concert as part of the festival featuring a band called The Blueswater.  They also had a girl singing with them called Nicole Smit who was absolutely captivating. It was a great night of music!!  They will all be at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh this year.

Walking around sandcastles is hard work and exhausting.  We headed to The Lobster Store for lunch and this time I had the whole lobster and Owen had the roll.

On our way back up to the town, we stopped at Brodie's Grannie's where I had my first affogato and Owen had a Banoffee shake!  Now to finish the climb back up the hill to our cottage and a rest!
