Scotland Bound

We left Pasco at 6:20 am on Friday, July 12 and arrived in Edinburgh at 9:00 am Saturday, July 13.  The trip was uneventful - meaning flights were mostly on time, little to no turbulence, and mostly respectful travel companions around us.

I was able to use the foot rest that my daughter had bought for me for our Seoul trip and it worked great.

You see, when your legs are short and don't reach the floor, long trips become unbearable as they hang and swell. I also sympathize with those whose legs are long.  Oh to be the size of an average person!

We didn’t fly first class this time since we would have all the time we needed to sleep when we got here.  We got our rental car and started the scenic drive over to Crail, still in a sleepy stupor - but the driving takes all eyes and brains in the car to remember to stay in the correct lane!  And being tired, I was super jumpy and shouted out and gasped several times. The roads are just too narrow!  Everybody thinks about the difficulties of being the driver - I contend that it takes a great deal to getting used to being the passenger as well in this new driving situation!

We found our way to our cottage and let ourselves in. It’s going to be a great home for the next three weeks. The landlady,  Fhiona, had everything ready and welcoming.

We took a “quick” 3 hour nap and then did the zombie shuffle into the village to find some dinner. We had amazing fish and chips at the local chippie, The Crail Fish Bar & Cafe,

strolled around town but most of the stores were closed for the day at that point. We were able to get some bread and milk and headed back to the cottage. On our way we snapped some quick shots of the harbor and coast below.

I was fighting sleep so hard so I just gave in and went to bed around 8:30. Owen came up to bed at 10:50 and it was still light out!  We're used to long summer days at home but that has them beat by a long shot!
